With the Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 patch, we've added a slew of new rank gear for you to unlock!

Distinguish yourself with the following! -- Combat Beanie at Rank Master Sergeant 3 -- Military Bandana at Rank Command Sergeant 4 -- M92FS Special Edition Pistol at Rank 2nd Lieutenant 1 -- Pilot Helmet at Rank 2nd Lieutenant 4 -- G23 Special Edition Pistol at Rank 1st Lieutenant 1 -- SCAR-L Black at Rank Captain 1 -- Skull Helmet at Rank Captain 3 -- M24 Woodland Camo at Rank Captain 5
Additional updates: -- Known map glitches in Cold Seed, Snow Valley and Junk Flea have been fixed. -- AUG-A1 purchase glitch fixed. -- Gas Grenades now only affect HP and bypass armor. -- Itech Reflex Sight has been balanced. -- Clan CTF scoring fixed: Team with the most flag captures after time runs out wins the match. -- Certain gear names and descriptions have been changed for clarity. -- Messenger features: Remove Friend function fixed in Messenger. Messenger window will now close if user clicks outside of window for ease of use.

Have a friend who needs an incentive to enlist? Or are you a recent Recruit who still hasn't figured out which weapon suits you best?
From Thursday, July 24th, 12:00am through Sunday, August 24th, 11:59pm, all newly created characters will receive a free Recruit Weapons Kit, in addition to their standard default equipment. Here's a chance to try out and practice with some of the weapons in the game without having to spend any Gear Points (GP)!
All you have to do is create a new account, and once you've finished character creation, the free extra weapons will automatically be deposited in your soldier's inventory.
The Recruit Weapons Kit includes the following items: -- M4A1 Assault Rifle (7-day use) -- L96A1 Sniper Rifle (7-day use) -- M23F Incendiary Grenades (7-day use)

Frontlines: Fuel of War 1.0.2 Patch Released -

Kaos Studios has released the long awaited 1.0.2 patch for Frontlines: Fuel of War. A download mirror for the North American retail patch can be found below.

Release Notes:

* Crashes when locking the screen during loads has been fixed (i.e. Using Alt+Tab).
* Server browser will no longer show servers that are not running.
* Alt+Tab will work properly in Windows Media Center.
* Lockups/crashes while “Please Wait” popup is on screen has been fixed.
* Player no longer becomes stuck in an unresponsive menu after quitting a match at the end of a round.
* NAT (Network Address Translation) – Listen Server now shows public IP and can be joined.
* Fix for infinite loops that occasionally appear in single player.
* Fix for hang issue/crash for Chinese and Korean native operating systems.
* Game will no longer crash when the user suspends the game using Ctrl+Alt+Del or Win+L on the splash screen after the game launch.
* New .dll’s to address sound card issues added.
* Fixed Japanese character issue on scoreboards.
* Russian fonts fixed.
* Polish, Chinese, and Czech language support added.
* Player count sort fixed on server browser.
